James J. (Jim) Burke - President & Chief Executive Officer
Prior to the founding of West Edge, Mr. Burke was President and a Director of NGL Energy Partners, a publicly-traded Master Limited Partnership on the NYSE (NGL), with business segments including Crude Oil Logistics, Water Solutions, Liquids, Propane, and Refined Products. During his tenure at NGL, Mr. Burke was instrumental in helping grow the business from its IPO EBITDA of $24 million to over $400 million in the fiscal year ending 3/31/16, becoming the #299 company on the Fortune 500 in 2015. Mr. Burke joined NGL after guiding its merger with High Sierra Energy, in 2012, for which Mr. Burke was President and Chief Executive Officer. He co-founded High Sierra in 2004, helping grow the business to over $3 billion in revenues in eight years. Mr. Burke guided numerous successful acquisitions at High Sierra, including a rail-based natural gas liquids business in 2004, and a water disposal business in 2011. High Sierra was the first company to initiate crude movements by rail out of the Bakken.
Mr. Burke, along with three other entrepreneurs, co-founded Petro Source Partners, LP, where he ran six business units throughout the United States and Canada for the company over a 16-year span. Mr. Burke helped the company exceed $1 billion in annual revenues when the company was sold in 2000. Prior to that, Mr. Burke served as Manager of Crude Oil Acquisitions at Asamera Oil (U.S.) Inc. from 1981 to 1984. Mr. Burke began his career as a Crude Oil Representative at Permian Corporation, where he worked from 1978 to 1981. Mr. Burke also serves as the Managing Director of Impact Energy Services, LLC. Mr. Burke received his B.S. from the University of Colorado in 1978.
Mr. Burke is Chairman of the Blackstone Entrepreneurial Network. He serves as an advisor of Diversified Resources. He is also committed to various other charitable and philanthropic initiatives. Mr. Burke is a board member of the Denver Hospice, as well as Chairman of the Board for Care Synergy.
